I guess some will argue that it is a symbol but when I served I never served the flag I served the people of the country. All the people. After Growing up in Norwood that was not easy for me to get to. It took many interactions with people who were different then me to realize I have been misled and conditioned based on hate. I still catch myself fighting off those feelings and thoughts daily. It is a battle that has to waged daily.
