diarra seemed extremely raw on the defensive end as well when he got here. he has to work on the basic stuff like positioning and footwork. then add in all the stuff we do, its a lot to understand, and then he has to apply it properly. |

How does everyone feel about comparing the 12-13 squad to the 18-19 squad?
Cash ---- Broome SK ---- Evans Parker ---- Cumberland Rubles ---- Scott Mbodj ---- Brooks Jackson ---- Nsoseme The rest of the bench doesn't match up as well but I think those 6 are pretty solid. That squad went 22-12 (9-9) before losing to Creighton in the NCAA's first round. |

We do have to face the realistic thought he could be gone. He's proto NBA wing body with a 41% three ball and solid D. |

I'm going to assume for the rest of the year that he stays. Unless he's a consensus 1st rounder, I'm not sure he'd be doing the best thing for his pro career. If he can get a guaranteed contract on the other hand...

if he's projected very end of the 1st at best it just doesn't seem smart to leave. he's young for a JR, staying another year won't hurt him from that aspect.

I know a lot of people but Nsoseme but he's a total ? for me. I think maybe they should start him next year and let him run wild while there's no bonus/threat of him going to the free throw line. If he is playing well and making a difference, let him get a lot of minutes. If not, go to Brooks that night and maybe even Scott in a small lineup.

I like our backup bigs, I really do. It's just hard for me to phantom the thought of two of them being our starters next year. I know a lot can change from now until then including progression, but seeing what we have now and then switching it out for two of them hurts. We shall see how this unfolds but realistically I hope we get a JUCO or grad transfer.
Like someone has mentioned before we have had some good seasons where we haven't gotten offense out of bigs before. I just wish those days were over because having scorers like Gary and Kyle is the reason IMO that we are on a different level this and year last year than years past. My prediction for next year is that Cane needs to be Cane. A 20+ scorer every night. I also truly think Evans will be gone. Cane - Jennifer-Johnson Cumberland - Moore Williams Scott - Mamoudou Brooks - Eli 3 scollys left. I hope we save a scolly for a transfer though. I really love having a transfer come in.
