His sarcasm is pointed toward Mick’s emphasis on getting deflections as a major point in how he judges the teams (or individuals) play.
Evans is a VERY good player, but as others have said he needs to show that he can be a very good player against the BEST competition. A strong finish to this year, against NCAA tourney quality teams, could possibly move him into a 1st round draftee. Right now, he is not there IMO, but would still be a 2nd rounder for teams needing a player of his type. |

Evans has been thrust into playing a position he hasn't played much of in 2.5 years and now it's become one of his primary tasks. I don't think it's fair to judge his ability on that. When he plays his natural position and shoots the ball he was excellent. Let's reduce his PG role and just give him a few opportunities from the top of the key when the situation calls for it.
The Dynamic Duo combination was working very well for a while. I didn't mind getting the ball in their hands a lot. Now that opposing defenses are focused on those two...I think it's time to flip the switch. Time to use all 4 of our weapons as a single unit. Even better if we can add a 5th weapon to the mix...wink wink! I think Cronin has managed to devalue Evan's stock by asking him to do things he doesn't have all the tools for. |

NBA mock drafts aside, IMO if Evans leads UC to elite 8 or better, goes, S16 or worse, stay

i've made the point before, but you aren't going to carry a team more than bluiett did last year in the tournament. it didn't do anything for his draft stock because he is who he is. for him to get drafted in the 1st he's gonna have to show it at the nba camps. |

Exposure by advancing in a single elimination tournament is a laughable concept. There are NBA scouts at every game, they know who he is.

Markelle Fultz slipped down to #1 overall because he didn't get any exposure in the tournament against top teams. Nigel Williams-Goss vaulted all the way up to #55 overall after gaining so much exposure by leading his team to the finals.
