The Official Gary Clark Appreciation Thread
Gary Clark is quietly having one of the best all around senior seasons in college basketball. Gary has started every game except 2, which were senior nights for Walk-on Zack Tobler and backup big man, Correy DeBerry. He is the current leader for AAC player of the year according to Kenpom and is a do it all player.
Gary has been a player who's been the epitome of what a Bearcat is. He never gives in and fights to the finish and his numbers show more so than anything else; relentless effort. Its going to be a sad day in Cincinnati when he graduates but i think Gary's future is very bright. I can see him as an off the bench do it all glue guy in the NBA or at worst, a European super star. Just wanted to highlight the below numbers from Gary. He is having a Career best in nearly every statistical category, while also increasing his workload on the ALLAllsdsdoffensive end. Its a damn shame if he isn't voted to an All American team. |

I was wrong wrong wrong...so wrong. I am embarrassed how wrong I was. I don't want the season to end because he is such a joy to watch play the game like it's supposed to be played. He's mentally the toughest player we have I think. A nicer kid has never walked through our doors. His jersey should be put on display for being an outstanding player but maybe more for being an outstanding person. |

I honestly may cry at Senior Night when Gary walks onto the court.

Here is some topics for conversation...Which team would you like to see Gary Clark play for in the NBA? Which team do you think he would fit in with?
I would like to see Clark play for the Pacers since I am from Indiana. I think he would be a nice addition to the team with his rebounding, passing, ability to score from outside. I think he would fit best with the Spurs imo. The way Pop coaches and actually runs an offense, I think would fit him best. Spurs always plays as a team and I think him in Leonard would be a nice combo. What are your all's thoughts??? |

Gary Clark is a litmus test for the degree to which you are a true Bearcat. He personifies all that the program has become known for at its best. 1) Hard work - has anyone ever seen him slacking? 2) toughness - like turning up the heat after he gets his front tooth knocked out 3) leaving it on the court - he doesn’t flap his jaws but let’s his playing do the talking 4) Improvement- he has exemplified colllege athletics by sticking with the program for four years and seeing maximum improvement 5) exceeds expectations- not even picked first team this year in the conference but now a potential POY. This could go on and on. Put simply he has done this program proud and elevated it in ways that can not be calculated. His success is a Testament to Cronin’s caliber as a couch which would be seriously in doubt without him. Two words in close which I would speak in the same sentence as Gary Clark - Jason Maxiel. Thud (mike drop).

Clark was named AAC Co-Player of the Week...figured it should go in here. He's an absolute joy to watch play.

When Gary Clark comes to mind, the thing that sticks in my mind is Great Player better Person. When Coach talks about Gary it always comes up how fine a person he is.
