Nebraska

I'm dying for some basketball. Anyone have anything upbeat to say about this game or our group of upcoming games?

I think Nebraska lost at home by 10 to Creighton and won @ Florida State. Also lost in OT @ Rhode Island. I fully expect to win. We need to shut down Petteway or Shields.

I am interested/mildly concerned to see how UC handles the pressure. Nebraska will get its runs and I'm not sure how we handle that. Not sure if we have the toughness right now to deal with it. We all know who we have to stop on the defensive end but do we have the skill and toughness to do that yet? Not being a negative nancy but a realist. Regardless we need games like this to grow and learn from so it will be good no matter what. Will Nebraska still have their students on campus or will they be gone?! That could be a plus for UC if they are gone.

This is a game that is important for this young team on many fronts. First, it's another opportunity to measure themselves against a good team with some veteran players. These games allow the players to see first hand what can only be experienced. The size, speed, strength and athleticism of high major division 1 basketball. Add in that it will be in a hostile environment against a team that likely wants some payback and this is a good game to check the toughness and character of this team.

What have they learned? Who is growing and are they more together as a team? We're going to see roles being more defined. I think we will start seeing more of a steady rotation now, with the time at the 2-3 at times depending on who has the hot hand for the night.

I want to see how they compete because I didn't think they competed or played as a team against Ole Miss. This is a growth game win or lose but I want and expect a tough bounch back win.

Nebraska has a tune up vs Incarnate Word tonight. I'm pretty sure they are new to D-1 but not a total joke. Hopefully they give Nebraska a game.

Incarnate Word wins 74-73. They hit a shot with 2.7 seconds left.
