Before you think everything is rosey in Westwood, just a year ago alumni were flying planes over UCLA with a banner to fire Alford. They rented billboard trucks to drive around campus urging th A.D. to fire Alford. Rumor has it that Alford is being recruited to be Indiana's coach and there is a group of alumni that would gladly pay the $7.5 million buyout.

Alford isn't a very good coach. He had a ton of talent at UCLA and could never coach them to play a lick of defense. If they just played average defense they would have been a 1 seed. He wasn't good at Iowa and probably just above average at New Mexico. I was surprised UCLA hired him and thought IU could have done much better.
