I mentioned this a month ago (Evans at the point) and I don’t think anyone thought it was a good idea. I like the idea of him running point. Why not? He’s 6’5 and is one of the best ball handlers we have. And it would get him involved

I also would have preferred some better tune up games. Might take us a half to adjust to Xavier’s quality

Positives-
Gary was great
Cane at least scored the last two games
We killed the last two teams
We were pushed in the buffalo game

Agreed. I think it gives us another option and could be used in late game situations. I remember Mick doing it with SK a handful of times (UConn successfully and at Providence, unfortunately at a game I was at where SK dribbled the ball off his leg into the backcourt on our final possession). I don't think that we'll be hurting for offensive options this year but if Evans is going to be our go-to-guy to close games out then having him run point keeps defenses from denying him the ball.

Cats stayed unbeaten and got some more work in. I'll take that. Keep building and improving. One more game and we hit the meat of the schedule.

If it takes a half, on their turf, mark that up as a double digit "L"

Cats need to come out intense without being tight.

Outside of Wisconsin, who is down a bit this year, XU hasn't been playing top notch opponents either. Although they do play Baylor
on Tuesday

I love this development!! As someone said, they can't deny JEIII at the end of games if he is playing point.

Cane likely is more comfortable at the 2, but we need him to become the primary PG to get to the E-8. I loved when we had Nick Van Exel and AD Jackson. Both excellent ball handlers. We need that!!

Exactly!!!!!!!!

We should be getting tested in practice. And Cane needs to learn to not commit TO in practice. We need them to learn there. Not games. We have 3 big games coming up Eggz, UCLA, and FL. No less than 2-1 record!!!

We can do it.
