That's not right as he would have to be enrolled in October to be eligible to practice and play games before December. Even if you graduated you would have to be enrolled in grad studies to play the final year. However, i guess he technically can play for another school as is implied.

That being said, he can still join the team in the second semester so long as he passes 6hrs and stays above a 2.0 for his overall GPA. For that matter, he can play on the team in the first semester so long as he's enrolled full time.
