- Do your research and due diligence on all opportunities
- Weigh your options and determine if any options, early in the signing period, fit what you are looking for.
- If there are fits, take your visits, make sure you like the SCHOOL because the coaching staff is not guaranteed to be there
- Consider the coaching staff and how they can make you better as a player and the education you can get at the school because there is no guarantee that you will play professionally and even less guarantee that you will be a big time star.
- If you find a school and coaching staff you like and they offer you a scholarship, commit because the school and staff can't wait forever and the grass isn't always greener.
Jason I was the father of a D-1 athlete. Pretty much what I told him. But we did discuss who he and to beat out to get in the lineup.

I consider that part of doing your due diligence and research on an opportunity. If you are considering UK, you should know that there is probably a 5 star player on the way your second year. If you are cool with that, fine. Just better understand the situation.

im sure most of the kids going to KY are going with the idea that they will only be there 1 year.

That has nothing to do with him visiting Dayton.

For what it's worth, Chad said on his recent podcast that Williams will visit Dayton, but may likely cancel the visit to OSU. He is apparently leaning towards UC or Dayton.

If that's true, I like our chances. Chad is really high on Williams - thinks he'll be a strong college player.

For those that are BCJ members, you know I am a rough critic when I am out scouting. Potential is nice, but if production doesn't follow there is little for me to get behind. I liked Anthony Gaines quite a bit, but he's a kid that will struggle to score at the highest level. I'm a huge fan of dirty work guys, but it can't be a one dimensional thing if you are going to play on the wing and be needed to score.

Williams checks off almost every box in what I look for. He wants to guard the opponents main perimeter threat, and can do it well across several positions. He can score at all three levels. He has a handle that can create problems in the middle of a defense. Plus he has that toughness that NYC guards are known for. He has all the makings of an early program guy that can become a star as he puts in the work necessary.

I haven't pushed a kid this hard since Gary Clark. Hopefully they get him in the fold and see similar results...
