Dude....if you didn't see that move as leverage, then I don't know what to tell you. Everyone I've heard from that is relatively close to the program says he never had any actual plans to leave. The new arena was still in limbo and he didn't feel the program was getting what it deserved to succeed. He stood up for the program. I really don't want to open a whole can of worms here, but being mad at Mick over the UNLV thing is just preposterous to me. It was a good thing.

They said on the Tulsa telecast that he reached out to Mike Brey a few years ago to learn offense from him. Glad he was big enuf to admit he should do that. I didnt think he had it in him. Apparently he has been in contact with Brey some after that too. I know he tightens up in close games, but he has definitely adjusted. There is no denying our adjO is way better.

LOL. Are you toying with him?

TheShoeFits will become famous soon enough
I know a lot of people don't care much for Lance but I thought this write up was spot on.

Tom Crean (50 years) has 353 wins.

Tommy Amaker (51 years) has 351 wins.

Jaime Dixon (51 years) has 345 wins. (In one fewer season than Mick)

Sean Miller (48 years) has 333 wins. (In one fewer season than Mick)

Jeff Lebo (50 years) has 322 career. (If that doesn't show you how meaningless this stat is, I don't know what will)
So by this for coaches his age he still is number 1...(this does mean something)

for coaches under 50 he is number 2 (of the guys you listed).

And in 5 or 6 years (when he is the age as most of these other guys) I think he will likely have more wins than them as well.

Congrats to Coach Cronin on a strong start to his career. We should all hope for many more Ws in his name.

He's been on a pace of about 25 wins the last 7 years...So on that pace he would have about 425 by age 50 and 475 by age 52.

I would like to see us get the SOS a little better...But I can't argue win total at his age. Tournament success would be nice too.

Nice article and I agree - it's spot on.

The evidence now is too overwhelming to ignore. Mick is a solid, high D1 coach and we're lucky to have him. I wouldn't put him in the upper eschelon as yet, because we haven't demonstrated enough post season success. However, I'm hopeful that will turn around soon as well.
