Will UC have multiple go-to players this season?

Another good article from the Enquirer.

Let's face it, since Mick has been our coach, we're lucky if we even have one go-to player on offense. The fact that there is a now the possibility of multiple go-to players is exciting. Even more exciting is that these supposed go-to players are generally younger rather than older meaning that we'll have multiple go-to players for more than one year.

Andy Katz included Cincinnati in his 3 point shot segment today:

Mick says some newcomers are yet to buy in defensively.

It is tough to go from high school or JUCO where there they don't play any defense to an elite defensive coach like Mick.

I agree, typically the physicality, speed and defensive commitment it takes at this level are the toughest adjustments to make. With the length, strength, athleticism and size of this team I expect them to play defense and rebound at a high level after a few games though. One thing I know is if they don't, they won't play.

We had a bunch of go to guys on the sweet 16 team.

Strong defensive rebounding could be a huge help for us early as the new guys get adjusted.

Late in the season, KJ looked like he wasn't afraid to take a big shot. Shaq isn't nearly aggressive enough on offense, but I've seen him step up as well. Caupain is pretty fearless. And I think Clark will be one of those guys after he gets a little game experience. Cobb looks like he's not afraid to come in and let it fly either. I would say between those 5 guys, any of them could knock down some big shots for us in the clutch.
