It's possible that a slower tempo might limit the overall pool of recruits that might be interested in the program. Is it the only factor? No, but it might be a factor.

Mick wouldn't offer the top 100 scholarships if he didn't want them. I don't think it's unreasonable to discuss/debate why we don't land more of them.

There is absolutely no doubt there are recruits of all rankings that will not go to a slow tempo school. That does not mean all good players won't do it. That is silly.

They go hand in hand. Unless you shoot 20 3s per game with a team where every player shoots them. If we had that, I wouldn't mind our pace at all. Wisconsin was #1 in the country in offensive efficiency. We weren't Top 100.

I'm with the "picking up the pace a little would be nice, but we need to be more efficient with our possessions, rather than worrying about how many shots to put up" people, if such a group exists.

I agree with you. I'm saying it could limit the pool of interested recruits not slash it to zero.

I think that's good a way to say it.

Well if it doesn't, it should. A faster tempo isn't going to hide the fact that the offense hasn't been very good. If we played a faster game, then the points scored per game to "guarantee" a victory would just rise. Getting to 70 or w/e it was wouldn't work anymore.

The offense needs to be better. Yes it needs to score more points. Everybody agrees it needs to score more points. But they can do that staying at 60 possessions per game if Mick chooses to still play that slow.
