Its just unfortunate he has to live in Hamilton haha. Hes gotten some really good press up here lately, if he keeps putting up good numbers hes gonna have a very nice pay day.

Not much - don't know the exact number, but the following excerpt should provide some context.
From this site: http://mmqb.si.com/2014/06/26/cfl-of...ry-stampeders/ The CFL’s recently ratified collective bargaining agreement set the salary cap at $5 million per year, per team—an uptick from the previous $4.4 million. For perspective: Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan took home $42 million last year, enough to cover the salaries of every CFL player. Most estimates peg the average CFL salary around $80,000. The minimum for a rookie is $50,000. The Houston Texans No. 1 pick, Jadeveon Clowney, by contrast, will earn a $420,000 base salary (with a $3.6 million prorated bonus) in 2014. |

I wonder how I could get by on just 420,000 a year or more than the president of the United States

Its surprisingly difficult to find out what everyone makes in the CFL because they are not required to publicly release the numbers to the public, however, the top Qbs are known to make at least 350+ a year. In other words a very nice living for a smaller sports league.

Zach Collaros, Top Performer
Collaros had an awesome game last night! 52-22 against the BC Lions - 4TDs, 19 for 23 passes for 290yds, 0 interceptions. A beauty TD to Luke Tasker, the highlight was so sick: http://cfl.ca/video/index/id/114639
He just won a Top Performer this week for it, it was such a good game. I think you can vote for him to win Fan Choice of the Week or something by retweeting this: https://twitter.com/CFL/status/633610448441577472 He's playing Edmonton on ESPN3 on August 21st - should be a good game. Go Bearcats!! |
