'19 CA PF Kenyon Martin Jr.
Kenyon Martin Jr. (KJ Martin) is playing his first year of high school basketball as a sophomore at Chaminade in West Hills, CA. He's about 6'6" 185 lbs. but he and his dad say he's still growing and will be around Kenyon's height. From what I've gathered he's raw but can hit 3's, drive the lane and he's already a very good shot blocker.
Hopefully he turns himself into a top 150 type of player and his dad steers him to his alma mater. |
Here's three little small highlights I've found on him. Wears #4 just like his pops.

The hype is real for Kenyon Martin Jr. The former NBA player's son is turning heads with his athleticism https://t.co/nNRMIEV3MP |

Kid has a lot of work to do just to qualify let alone get into Duke. He looks to be a great talent. Hope he gets his act together.
|
I'm so sick of Duke/UK. Why don't these kids dream to be different. I give Ben Simmons credit for going to LSU.

Kenyon Sr. doesn't want him at UC, have to face the pressure of following in his footsteps.

The belief is grades and the fact that the kid is a west coast kid is more of an obstacle than where his father went to school or who his coach was. |

With that said, I continue to hope there is movement in Sr's life in regards to becoming a coach on some level from now until 2019. That could become a big factor. |

From what I recall, his grades recovered once Kenyon laid the hammer down? It certainly seems like a yellow flag, but 14/15 year old kid will make a mistake or 2. I will temper my hopes he ever highly considers UC, but seeing him play anywhere else in the country would sting. Kenyon was on campus several times last year - need him back around again! I had a glimmer of hope he would be at the Tulane game, since he was the ticket person, but no dice. |

I get the notion of him not coming to UC because of the added pressure. But you have to think, wherever he goes, he is always going to be identified as Kenyon Martin's kid. You would think even more so if he goes to WVU. But, a lot of time before any of that happens.

No idea if that "warm" interest is just 247 trying to piece the dots together of if there actually is something brewing. I think all of us would be ecstatic if this happened |
Here is a little highlight video of him and Scottie Pippen's son. They both play for Sierra Canyon now. The video also shows highlights of the other team, but definitely like Kenyon's highlights.
