Regular season Report card

The regular season is over, let’s hand out of some grades:

Non conference: C-
Conference play: B
Defense: B (at times it was A level, others it was C- or worse)
Offense: B+
Effort/Heart/toughness: C+ (last 5 min of games : A+,)

Overall: B-

3 losses separated this from being a decent season to an outstanding one.

From a player perspective:

Jarron: B+ (not outstanding, even in scoring slumps, created for others)
Trevon: A+ (had high hopes for Tre, and still exceeded them)
Keith: B+ ( played well for the most part, still needs to be more consistent)
Jaevin: B (hit a lot huge shots for us, absolutely essential, defense was never consistent)
Vogt: B+ (he has been bad lately, but he exceeded expectations )
Diarra: B ( has the potential, just needs more experience)
McNeal: D+ ( if he can shoot, pass, & play defensive on just a B- level, I doubt we lose so many games)
MAW: B ( never does too much, plays within himself. Still unsure of long term potential )
Harvey: C+ (ankle injury slowed his progress but has yet to play consistent, not living up to expectations yet)
Davenport: C ( not a lot of minutes, energy guy, high floor low ceiling in my opinion)

A++

-1 seed in conference tournament
-Jarron hasn't been 100% all year
-Multiple players transferring out before the start of the season.
-Multiple players transferring in.
-New coaching staff
-New coach
-New coach dealing with the illness and death of his father.

Myself and three buddies stopped and got some beer and wings before the Temple game and we got to talking. Justin you have single handedly made this site unreadable.

I'll just leave this right here, https://csnbbs.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=404

Are you saying that you and 3 buddies talked about me while eating chicken wings?

That’s weird

I always loved the regular season. The conference tournament is also awesome. I wouldn’t be on here everyday if I didn’t love the whole season. I would just like more in the NCAA tournament. Think both can be true

Disagree with grades on:

Jarron C+ May have been injured but that shouldn't affect his Ast/TO rate ie. lazy passes, cut down 2-3 TO's a game and we possibly win a few more games. If he knew how much time was on clock UC would have 3 more W's.

Jaevin C+ Probably my biggest disappointment this season. Aside from 3-4 games he was very pedestrian. IMO we need him to score at least 10 points/game moving forward to win

Vogt C+ Has been basically non factor since the new year

MAW - A- To rely on a Frost starting is asking a lot, IMO he has been solid. He plays within himself and framework of offense

I can agree with most of those adjustments.

I graded Vogt with expectations in mind and how he performed for a good bulk of the year.

He played like our best player when Jarron was struggling.

Probably would MAW up to B+. He’s been good, stable and reliable. And without him we’d be screwed as McNeal just hasn’t been good at all
