That would put a damper on ability to extend him; however, it does make sense from a Reds perspective. Oh well, Jay is one of my favorite young kids coming through the system in the last 25 years.
My favorite Jay Bruce memory is a private affair. As the long U became common way of announcing his name, my son (6 at the time) kept thinking they were saying Babe Ruth. He asked me when the Reds got Babe Ruth from the Yankees LOL
