The Day hiring made me scratch my head bit, but I don't know the inner workings of OSU football. They clearly think he's their guy (or this was negotiated by Meyer months ago in exchange for "retiring" and taking almost 40 million dollars off the board for owed salary).
I think, right now, Fickell is happy. Was probably in over his head for the brief period of time he was Head Coach in Columbus. Cincinnati gives him a chance earn his chops in a must less stressful environment. In a perfect world he stays for a few more years, we get the new conference affiliation so desperately needed and moving on becomes a little more difficult.
