They were 4-8 at this point last year; besides this string of injuries, no need to panic yet.

I'm going to panic if this awful "Wooo" thing doesn't stop. I was hoping that would die at the end of last season. Getting to the point where I'm changing channels because it's so annoying.

Typical Cincy fans my friend. 150 games left and they think the seasons over.

hey Jeff. How about the fact that they have so little respect for a guy who has delivered two division titles and multiple winning seasons to a town that for ten years hadn't sniffed a season over 500. They continually belittle him and criticize him. Sound like anybody else we know. Got to love Cincinnati fans.

I agree with this, I really don't get the dislike for Dusty Baker in this town. The only logical explanation I've ever heard is from an older friend of mine who remembered when Dusty played for the Dodgers, who in the late 70's was a very heated rivaly with the Reds. His hatred for Dusty runs back to his playing days. I'm 34, I started following baseball and the Reds in 1985 or so when neighborhood boys turned me on to it. So I never knew Dusty as a player and never hated him prior to him being the manager here. I will say if the Reds were ever to hire Craig Biggio or Jeff Bagwell or Chris Carpenter or Albert Pujols or maybe a few other players I would have a hard time getting over my hatred for those guys. But bottom line the guy wins and that is what I care about. His players play hard for him. Sometimes he puts a pitcher in that gets shelled or leaves a pitcher in too long. I realize he doesn't have the crystal ball that other managers have (note: sarcasm). But 97 wins with a young, home-grown, mid-level payroll team speaks volumes to me. There are some things I might would do differently if I were him. I'm not crazy about his over-sticking with veterans even when they clearly need to be on the bench (Scott Rolen). But I do know that veteran players are happy here and they lead the young players up and that goes a long way in building good team chemistry and teaching young players the right way in the game.

Choo was on base 6 times today. That didn't happen in a month with Stubbs. Ralph I guess what I'm trying to say is you have a wonderful grasp of the obvious.
