'12 CA PF Andrew Young

Hometown: Monterey, CA
High School: Monterey High School
Junior College: Monterey Peninsula
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 235 lbs

Last I read through 12 games he was averaging 24 points and about 17 rebounds a game!! He is a polished back-to-the-basket scorer with a nice mid-range jumper and has some ability to play above the rim. Apparently has a very good work ethic and good grades. What seems to be more impressive is the fact that apparently not much talent on his team and usually he is double or triple teamed. The one real big question is.... he is not very good defensively and at times seems overmatched in playing defense. Also isnt overly athletic but despite that he is a good rebounder.

Has interest from: Pitt, CINCINNATI, Cal, Washington State, NC State and Gonzaga among a couple other smaller programs. Early favorite seems to be Cal because they've showed the most interest in him. BUT Cal may not have enough schollys to grab him. Team to watch here is Pitt he seems to like them alot as well.

Really like this kid and what he offers but I think he is a backup plan to Bail but would be a good consilation prize. I would say his list goes Cal, Pitt then UC.

We definitely need a Center. I would be OK with a JC guy

This guy would be a great get he is considered a "complete" package but does need to work on defense a little.

NC State is no considered to be the most active in his recruitment and doesn't seem Mick will make a serious push for him.

Mick hasn't seen him yet. Coach Davis has been recruiting him.

You're welcome! NC State is making a serious play but as of now he has serious UC interest.
