We fared well in the non conference but then cannibalized each other. I’m still not counting out SMU

I'm still willing to bet on Houston as team #3

Look at the other bubble teams. Their resumes aren't strong. The last two teams in the current bracketmatrix field are Maryland and Western Kentucky. Maryland is 0-6 in Group 1. WKU is 1-1 in Group 1 with three bad Group 3 losses.

bubble really does seem to get worse and worse every year.

does the power 5 cutting out the mid major schools cause this? as they continue to expand conference games, this just seems like an issue that will get worse.

Maryland plays in a much better league and has more chances for resume building wins than anyone in the AAC. WKU well they will be replaced by another high major. Conference affiliation matters.

I can't wait for an 8-12 in ACC Georgia Tech to be a tournament team in a few years.

Maryland only has three Group 1 games left on their schedule. Houston has four. Look at the facts, not just your perception.

I think this is also just perception. Last year the last team in according to bracketmatrix was USC. They had only two top 50 wins, both at home. They lost 9 games. Not a great resume. I think you'll find glaring weaknesses at the bottom of every bracket.

Group 1 wins change every week. By the end of the year is when you judge. They is no denying that the AAC is a terrible bball league. You have two top teams and a whole bunch ok meh teams and some teams that would fare better in D 2
