The new staff at the University of Miami has been aggressive when it comes to offering players. Jim Larranaga and company have offered a number of talented players in multiple classes, and one of those players is class of 2012 standout Carlos Morris.
Morris is a 6-foot-5, 175-pound shooting guard from Apalachicola, Fla. who attends Arlington Country Day (FL). This past weekend Morris and his AAU team, the Dwight Howard Warriors, played in the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions and InsideTheU had a chance to speak with him and see him play. At this point, Morris lists offers from Cincinnati, Providence, Miami, South Carolina, Georgia, and South Florida. In addition, he is hearing from Florida, Seton Hall, Missouri, Arkansas, and VCU. Morris added of his school list, “It’s others, but [those are the schools] hitting me the hardest.” Two schools have made their way to the top of Morris’ list at this stage of his recruitment. “Right now I like Cincinnati and Georgia,” Morris said. http://blog.northstarbball.com/ |

Gamecocks Head Basketball Coach Darrin Horn is on hot pursuit for Carlos Morris out of Jacksonville, F.L.
The 6’5” shooting guard is rated by most as a three star prospect and is said to be considering South Carolina, Cincinnati, Providence, Georgia, Arkansas, West Virginia and Oklahoma State. Morris averaged 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game last season. His strengths are his ability to create when the ball is his hands, his range and his defensive skills. With a little coaching, he could be the type wing player USC needs that can penetrate but also play solid defense. Morris made an unofficial visit to USC last year and said he will use one of his official visits for a return trip this fall. He is likely to make his decision known this November. Let’s hope Coach Horn can land this kid. http://www.leftoverhotdog.com/articl...os-morris.html |

Don't know if we need another 2 guard, but talent is talent. Wouldn't be too disappointed if he went to USC they have a serious need for back court talent post-Downey they have been awful.

He has the ability to be a lockdown defender and he can attack the rim. Much rather have Hawkins or White who could play the 2 or 3.
