It looks like one coaching staff scouted the other team and developed a game plan.

Basically shoot around for UNLV behind the 3 point line... UC is just un disciplined running all over the place

The defense is leaving guys for no reason. Mainly Scott and Jarron. And not rebounding. Rebounding is just effort. Effort to box out and go get the ball. Really no excuse.

MAW looks good.
Vogt doesn't play well against players he doesn't have 4+ inches and 50 pounds on. Scott just doesn't seem to fit what Brannen wants him to do. Brannen wants Scott to play as a guard on offense and be a rim protector on defense.
Plus he needs to rebound, as he is usually the only guy on the floor for us who is a plus rebounder (Diarra and Davenport being the other two on the team).

Maw is the only guy who has looked good tonight.

I get spacing but put him up their to set a screen
Agreed. All it does is let the defense reset because they know all he's doing is waiting to pass the ball to the next person.

I was just hoping for a better looking team tonight.

It’s the same team we saw in the island.

Just figure it out and win

I don’t know what to think of this team and Brannen.

Yeah, I've complained about putting Vogt on the perimeter all season. It would make much more sense to use Scott in that role. Vogt on the perimeter lets the defense reset and his man just sits back and clogs the paint. It can get Vogt an easy bucket now and then if the other team misses a rotation on defense, but UNLV seems to have prepared for that as they haven't missed on one yet.

100% agree. If you want Vogt to get the ball have him post his man up.

Yeah, I’ve heard your Chris Vogt take. Vogt isn’t going to score 20 a game. Really all I expect from him is 6-8 points. He is going to have bad games. He isn’t Kenyon. Yes he will struggle against better/bigger players. We all agree. Players that aren’t very skilled or athletic do that.
