I must admit these Bearcats are going to be better than I initially thought.

Here's some good press. It's from a Grantland article (Bill Simmons' ESPN side project) titled "25 Thanksgiving College Hoops Epiphanies" Here's the mention of the Cats

19. Cincinnati is as tough as we thought
Mick Cronin and the Bearcats won the Global Sports Classic, a.k.a. the other Las Vegas tournament, and they did it with the gritty-grindy, strong-defense-plus–Sean Kilpatrick style that let them beat previous gritty-grindy heroes Florida State in last year's tournament. Also, they rebound like crazy. I pegged them as one of the teams most likely to compete for a title from outside the Top 25 when the year began, and now they're my favorite squad outside the top 20. Soon enough, that category will be outdated, too.

Yeahhhh buddy! Love it. I must admit, going into the tourney my biggest concern was the defense, but I was really impressed and quickly realized that is going to be there allll year. The defense was stout and I was impressed with freshman Shaq...his long arms really made a difference and will only get better. I think two areas we need to get better and will see improvement every game is, offense and ball handling/security. I am confident we will keep seeing improvement in those areas. Also, I wonder if there is a way to incorporate JJ down in the post area instead of hanging around the 3 point line because he looks so out of place trying to do any dribble penetration.

I would love to JJ and Rubles in the line up together along with SK, Parker and Cash.

I agree! With this lineup would you agree JJ float around from block to block with him flashing to the middle? Also it would be nice if JJ could stay on the floor for 10 straight min. instead of picking up quick fouls and never really getting in the flow.

Would like to see the boy from the Sudan instead of Jackson. Jackson is a turnover machine. Great energy, but can keep us out of the flow at times.

The 4 out and 1 in is a horrible match for JJ. His handles aren't great and his outside shot is not good either. He tries to hit a homerun everytime he touches the ball, tries to force things and do way too much. On top of that he has looked lost at times and has made some boneheaded plays that a Jr. on the team shouldn't be doing. I love Jackson's hustle and attitude but the current offense doesn't suit JJ. He needs to work on his handles and have a better 15-20 ft. jump shot for his game to work.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but on the espn page it says that cincy averages the most rebounds per game in the country!
