Awesome news and well deserved. Bearcat football is in good hands for the next couple of years.

Really hope his success here doesn't drive him to another team. We have a young talented QB who should be someone other skill players want to play with. Coach has done very well to this point finding talent. Our team was one of the youngest in the country. Defensively which is his strong suit really turned the corner this year and our offense with Ridder is primed to go. Keeping him is critical at this point.

Day being named head coach at Ohio ST is a good thing for Fickell staying with UC longer, do not see him going anywhere soon. Just think, when we play them next year, Fickell will not only have more head coaching experience but more games as a head coach at Ohio ST. LOL

The Day hiring made me scratch my head bit, but I don't know the inner workings of OSU football. They clearly think he's their guy (or this was negotiated by Meyer months ago in exchange for "retiring" and taking almost 40 million dollars off the board for owed salary).
I think, right now, Fickell is happy. Was probably in over his head for the brief period of time he was Head Coach in Columbus. Cincinnati gives him a chance earn his chops in a must less stressful environment. In a perfect world he stays for a few more years, we get the new conference affiliation so desperately needed and moving on becomes a little more difficult. |

Urban is going to be a mentor to coaches and obviously help recruit for OSU. Day had a statement on twitter last night that he is focusing his recruiting mainly on Ohio and that every high school player in Ohio dreams of playing for OSU
FWIW I dont think OSU is or was interested in Luke as a HC
