Warning: Sarcasm ahead

Woodson is currently said to be a top 30 type recruit. If he committed to UC, he'd fall to 100.

Seems to be the way the analysts handle ranking kids.

I think there is something to this but it is much more prevalent on the football side.

i have friends in multiple different college fan bases who all think the same thing. everyone thinks the scouting services are biased against guys that commit to their program. what reasonable and legitimate reason does rivals have to penalize a players ranking for committing to uc?

rivals was founded in seattle and now has a strong basis in the south since they bought alliance sports a while back. what do they possibly have against uC?

On the football side, it is more that recruits get bumped up in the rankings when they pick certain schools. Look at ND and their classes. Perfect example. Because there are less players in basketball, you don't see it nearly as much. Where you tend to see it with basketball is when a player commits very early.

And it is not an agenda against any one school. There are perceptions about programs (especially when it comes to football) and those perceptions play a big role in recruiting rankings.

Is the new assistant coach hire, Antwon Jackson, in place or is he still transitioning over? Since he coaches the low post players it might be nice to have him here for the Woodson's visit. For such a needed player i'm sure they will role out the red carpet and do everything (legally) within their power to persuade him.

Hopefully we get him before St. John's starts recruiting him. We all know they dish out money to every recruit, the recruit's family, handlers, AAU coach, the guy who took his SATs, up to 5 members of the recruits entourage, Mick Cronin so he doesn't report the violations, the Democrat and Republican National committees, local police force, the United Way, and the Susan G Komen "Race for the Cure" to benefit breast cancer research.

whats funny is that ND fans think that all of their players get downgraded when they commit there. i follow nd football and recruiting very closely. every fan base thinks the same way. regardless of whether this actually happens or not, every fan base thinks their players get slighted for committing to them by the powers that rank players. its the same way when any national writer says something negative about a team. according to the fan base- that guy/espn/sports illustrated/cbs etc, etc. automatically hates that school according to the fans.
