Thanks. I was surprised to see UC mentioned to be honest. Not because we don't have a shot but usually Michigan recruitniks don't view UC as a threat. Their attitude is the same as OSU's, "if we want the player, we'll get the player." Nice to see UC mentioned especially since we are after a lot of the same players.

I think UC QB's are about to be looked upon with more favor, as they've had three good ones in a row, well...make that four.

Would we really take Jones? I'm just wondering if that Michigan writer realized that we had Coyne committed in this class. I just can't see us needing another QB with all of the other needs on this team. Coyne was clearly the better QB in the Columbus Elite 11 camp. Maybe we take Jones as an 'athlete' but he has enough quality BCS offers that if he wants to play QB he can do that somewhere else.

My opinion with ANY position is you need depth. I think BJ could take another QB. Competition is always a good thing and nothing is promised to anyone. Just because Coyne looks like a stud doesn't mean he is the only QB you take. It's all about numbers and whether BJ feels comfortable with who he has and how many he has.

I am of the same opinion but for 2011 we are already going to have 6 QBs on scholarship with Zach, Chazz, Kay, Munchie, Kater, and Coyne. I just don't think having 7 QBs on scholarship is wise when we have major needs at OL, DL, LB, and RB and only 1 QB can play at a time. I'm sure we'll continue recruiting high level QBs in the future with offers already out to Gunner Kiel and Zeke Pike for 2012.

Fair point. Isn't Kay hurt though? I thought there was some major concerns with him. Also, don't forget that the following year Zach and Chazz are gone. You never know how a guy will come back from a knee injury though I don't know how serious Kay's injury is. If you take those 3 out (in a worst case scenerio), you are left with 4 QBs. What if you aren't able to land someone as good as Cardale Jones next year? You can always red shirt him the first year. Your point is well taken but I think it may depend on whether BJ feels he can get a Maty Mauk, Zeke Pike, or Gunner Kiel in 2012.

Kay did tear his ACL but I would assume that he's getting back to being able to play since he dressed for the spring game and may have even held for a FG or a PAT. I would think that if he's at least in good enough shape to dress for the spring game that he'll be able to play at some point, certainly by the 2012 season which kicks off in just over 2 years from now. Jones is a a very athletic QB so he could potentially be moved to a different position if things didn't work out. I still don't think its likely that he comes here.
