'12 CT C Chier Ajou

he is 7'2" and a lean 218 lbs.. Raw with big upside. Good shot blocker with excellent mobility. Committed to New Mexico and then reclassified to 2012.

Chier Ajou (St Thomas More 2012) – Ajou is a perfect example of the old saying “you can’t teach size.” He is every bit of the 7’2” he is listed at and uses that size to alter the game on both ends. Not a great athlete, Ajou doesn’t try to do too much defensively rather just standing straight up with his arms raised as drivers approach. This keep him out of foul trouble and is still very imposing because, again, the kid is 7’2” tall. On offense Ajou is somewhat limited but is effective setting screens and rolling straight to the rim. He has strong hands and finishes with power when he catches it close.

Chier Ajou (St Thomas More 2012) – Eligibility concerns are a major issue for the big man from the Sudan. His is a 5th year senior at St Thomas More and according to head coach Jere Quinn it just isn’t known yet whether he will be eligible to play college basketball next year. This is scaring away most potential suitors but high majors such as Oklahoma and Cincinnati have expressed interest and are keeping tabs on the situation.
