John Williamson highlight mix. Limitations be damned, I would have killed to have someone like him on last year's roster.
The worst part about the video was seeing how easy it was to make a 3 foot jumper. something none of our big man could do. well that, make layups, dunk the ball and idk not foul

I'm with you. He was a Bearcat.

Cincinnati would have been a Sweet 16 caliber team with Williamson last year. He personified what it is to be a Bearcat.

BTW, for his two seasons he averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds on 49% shooting in 29 minutes.

This can't be right. You mean Mick saw talent in JW, recruited him and he had post moves. Nah, can't be right.

I don't know who the heck is going to play center this year, but it is probably going to be a guy that shoots 50% or worse from the FT line and scored 5 ppg. we cant continue to have a gaping hole at the center position.
Mick has stated Strickland was being brought in to score...period. Other than getting back to 100% healthy and getting some reps against better players I don't see the project talk some have mentioned. Projects are usually either very tall or very athletic with very few BB skills. Jamaree has low post scoring ability. He was highly rated before the injury and the videos out there are mostly of a guy recovering from Knee surgery.

Get him some D1 strength and conditioning...and a healthy Striickland will be a big part of this team's success for years to come IMO. Other than Lawrence he is the guy I am most excited about...then Johnson.

Went back and watched more video highlights of our recruits.

Lawrence is obviously the most highly touted and I think he will be a factor right away but I don't think he's going pro any time soon.

Mormon is a beast. He's got a lot of fire and I love that. He's got some sericous atheletecism and defensive skills. Offensively can finish above the rim and has a reasonably good outside shot but seems to always favor the left on the dribble. gotta fix that.

Johnson? Can't say enough about what I see here. He's quick, has handles, and can pass. He seems to favor his left while dribbling and when going to the hoop (and finishes well right and left) but he's right handed when shooting. Didn't see him attempt one 3 pointer in a 5 minute highlight video...just penetration and passing. He even penetrates when it looks like there is nothing there.

Strickland. I am sold on his potential pre-injury. If he stays healthy he will be starting at the latest year 2...maybe and hopefully late year 1. He's got low post scoring ability and the lack of that obviously killed us this year.

Caupain. I don't know what to say here. I just don't see what others seem to be seeing here. He seems a bit slow and handles aren't great...has a knack for scoring I guess. Fortunately there are others who are better BB scouts than I on this board...as well as our head coach.

I am officially stoked about this class. If Cronin can land another nice class with some fillers 2014...look out.

Johnson made 4 threes in the KY-Ohio allstar game recently. By all accounts some were quite deep.

Caupain is an excellent passer. He has a good shot and handles he ball just fine. He rebounds the heck out of the ball and is long and athletic.

Cheikh could dunk. His knocks would be his lack of size, jump shooting and fouling.
To be fair though, I don't think our centers should have to shoot jump shots. If our guards could shoot, it'd be a non-issue.
It'd also help if they would drive the ball and look to score rather than look to pass it back out.
Got sick of seeing that perpetual dance they'd do at the top of the key. They'd shuffle one guy in, he'd hand the ball to the left or right, next man up gets the ball and then the guy to his side get it, then the next guy ad nauseum.
