Cumberland said no one has talked to him about anything...seems like an awful shitty way to handle things with the cornerstone of your team.

why would anybody? this isn't the nba. our decision to hire somebody should be because he's the best guy for the program, it doesn't matter what cumberland thinks about him. |

Agreed. Especially seeing as he will only be with the team for another year at most. And he knows nothing about any of these coaches.

I don't know, why not seek input from the best player on your current team. The guys presence is pivotal in regards to whoever the new coach is having a good first yr and continuing this winning momentum we have on top of building on that..

you simply cannot make a coaching decision based on who a college kid wants. thats absolutely insane. |

True. But you can talk to him. Make him feel inclusive. Throughout my career in the business world, higher level people would always at least talk to me and make me feel inclusive even if I had no skin in the decision. It surely can’t hurt to engage. Even if you say nothing about the candidates, but just reach out and ask him if he’s doing OK.

Well I'm just saying the wise thing to do is to at least make him feel included or important in the process all the players really. Otherwise they just feel like resources

Are they just supposed to talk to Cumberland or all the players? Lol. By the way... I agree to reach out to current players to let them know we are working on a solution and we want them to stay. I would not involve them in any way of the process of selecting a coach. But they are all smart enough to realize all this.

I’m really not sure what the best way to do things is. I tend to think you’d include a player rep (Cumberland) in some capacity. |
