Memphis

1 olcock espn. Big opportunity here. But don't really like our chances.

+4.5

Not too optimistic about today as I feel like we don't match-up well with Memphis's length/athleticism. They're an elite defensive and rebounding team.

On the bright side, Memphis hasn't played great away from home this season. They've lost @Tulsa and @SMU - two places where we've gotten wins (albeit we had more depth than we do now in those games).

Don't mind if we hack a lot today, as Memphis is the worst FT shooting team in the conference.

Only way I see us winning is in an ugly low-scoring game. Don't think we have the horses to win in a shootout.

Im ready to just move onto to next year, see what kind of roster this will be.

Id like to see DJD come back and give Saunders even more time to develop.

But to me just 2 starting spots are locked up for next year:
PG: DJD
SG:
SF: Davenport
PF:
C:

We need to recruit with the premise that we have starter level minutes wide open in 3 spots.

I think Tari is going to be good but I think he may not peak until his JR year. We need a stop gap to fill the 4 and 5. and we need an Alpha scorer.

The entire staff recently followed 5 star/high 4 star Marjon Beauchamp. HE is a guy who was slated to skip college and go pro but now changing his mind due to Covid.

We need to put a full court press on him. Like we can drop some bags if we have to. But that's the kinda guy this team needs.

Saunders was one of the best players on the floor against the most athletic team in the country. I get he might not be a complete player by next year but I think he will be good enough if needed. Eason will also be good if they have a whole summer to work. Not having that really hurt development. But we definitely need more. Will be a fun couple months this spring. Waiting for commits.
