I'll be excited if/when Diarra comes back, even if none of the rest of you are.
But yeah, he seems to follow the Mick/Sampson model of chuck it up and go get it on offense. Though he seems willing to adjust, make changes and learn. One of the articles I linked talked about how he has developed as a coach. Seems like improving as an offensive coach is his next step and hopefully that also means getting a good offensive minded assistant. |

I don't think he was last resort. It seems like he was in their top 3ish who got in person interviews (Gates may also have had an in person interview): Pedon, Martin and Miller.
I'm sure they discussed numbers at the end of each interview with their top targets. Then they sat down and made the decision of who they wanted. Miller was #1. Martin was probably #3. |

Cronin was type 5 recruiter in country at time of his hire. I believe Zion had them on his top 5 though. I might give Cronin edge but not by much. He recruits locally though so this was HUGE GAMBLE with rayvon and lil Paul on horizon

Honestly he looked like Cronin 2.0 but better at recruiting. More willing to adjust his scheme to his players and also less of a micro manager on the court.
One of the articles I quoted said something along the lines of if you work your butt off he's willing to leave you in even if you make some mistakes. But also perhaps worse offensively. Haven't really seen much talk about his offensive schemes other than chuck it and go get it. |
