NKU

Games is Tuesday night
NKU is 8-1

They can shoot, and will be coming into our arena looking to make the upset. I’m having flashbacks from two years ago against Marshall where Marshall couldn’t miss. I really hope they aren’t making every 3 they take. Hopefully we avoid the trap game and get out with a W. We are the better team and have more talent. This is a perfect game for us fans to look forward to, to help crosstown shootout week move a little faster

In their only game against decent competition this year (@UCF) they competed well for one half before UCF made an early 2nd half run and NKU spent the last 15 minutes of the game down 15+ points. UCF missed 19 free throws in that game but held NKU to only 8 second half FGs which marked only the second time this season NKU scored less than 77 points in a game.

They are one of the best 2-point shooting teams we'll face this season (61.3%) while also one of the worst free-throw shooting teams (61.8%).

It'll be interesting to see what type of line-ups we put on the floor as their two primary front court players McDonald and Walton are 45% 3-point shooters who take about 5 3s a game each so I'm not sure we can count on Brooks/Nsoseme to guard them on the perimeter.

probably a game for scott at the 5. can even play both pgs cause nku runs 2 small guards themselves. nku doesn't really offensive rebound either so cumberland could play the 4 if thats a route we wanted to go.

Pressure them and disrupt any offensive flow. Thats what UCF did. Brooks could have a big game as they do not guard the paint all that well. They can shoot it though.

Need to put this one in the win column. Hope the guys aren't looking ahead to Saturday. Have to keep building our resume and learn from each game. The guys are growing their games. We need to get some consistency.

I think an upset would have been more realistic if no one made this a big deal. Now there's no looking past NKU as the players coaches and fans know this is no joke. That's the worst thing that could have happened to NKU.

Marshall came in two years ago under the radar and lit it up.

our perimeter defense better show up tonight. its been bad this year and the results only look ok because OSU is the only good shooting team we've played. 6 have been 200th or worse in 3%.

nku is ok at defending offensive rebounds but we should still get them. nku actually has the 2nd best defense we've faced this year. they aren't great at anything on defense but the only thing they are awful at is fouling (and against us thats probably not terrible).

we should be able to out physical them, but it will be important to come out strong and not let them get into a rhythm.

This is not a trap game! There should be no way in hell we are looking past this one given the proximity of opponent and extra motivation we know they are going to bring to the game. Not to mention they are a quality opponent.

If we show up with the right intensity we should win comfortably unless there is some perfect storm type of scenario (cold shooting vs hot shooting). Knowing that we brought some pretty good intensity to the NC Central game I can't imagine we will come out flat to this one.

We need to bury them!
