'13 NC C Sidy Djitte

I thought there was already a thread but couldn't find it. I know he played well in the summer at The Top 100 Camp (or one of those events).

2013 Fayetteville (NC) big man Sidy Djitte lists Clemson, Wake Forest, UConn, Cincinnati, NC State, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Memphis & more.

Temple and UC were in to see him last week I believe. Three star player that's only played basketball for a couple years. He averaged a double double in the Reekbok Showdown Series (points/rebounds). He plays hard and rebounds and moves well. Like most bigs has a ways to go offensively.

i would give anything to get a big man in here who isn't a "he has only played basketball for 3 years" type of guy. generally, they have no hands, no polish, and ball skills in terms of holding it high and controlling their body with the ball in their hands on the block. i know beggars cant be choosers but the quality of big men coming in in terms of skills is getting frustrating.

Maybe he could end up being our Gorgui Dieng. (Note Extreme Sarcasm)

More likely, he'll be a combination of Ibrahima Thomas, Cheik Mbodj, and David Nyarsuk. And in a couple of years when we don't have any scholarships available and a player wants to transfer in, this board will be calling for him to transfer out. LOL.

Why bother with comments like this? I usually welcome your input save your random streaks of sarcasm.

Sidy Djitte is a kid I got a good look at last June at NBPA Camp and was really impressed with his effort. Long and athletic with upside.

Djitte is from Dakar, Senegal which has been a hot spot for UC with I. Thomas and Cheikh. Would be nice to have a 4 year guy like him.

Can't say I'm too excited about the prospect of another African native. UC's track record hasn't been great in that area.
