Ivy League tournament has been cancelled due to Coronavirus. Yale gets the autobid.
I think it's within the realm of possibility that the NCAA tournament is cancelled. A few weeks ago, the US had more cases than Italy. Now, Italy has almost 10,000 cases, almost 500 deaths, the entire country is on lockdown, and all sporting events have been cancelled. This thing can spread very quickly if it breaks containment. Ohio is only testing those who have symptoms and have travelled to China or been in contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis. To me it seems likely there are some people with no symptoms or who got the virus from Italy, Iran, South Korea, etc. I think odds are high that the virus is not contained in the US at this point. |

It's absolutely not contained, but is the NCAA really gonna give away all that money.
They really don't care about people. |

The NCAA won't have a choice if federal/state/local governments ban public gatherings. I suppose they could play without crowds.

Federal government isn't gonna do crap.
NCAA will try any way possible to get the games on TV I'd imagine. |

Yesterday they wouldn't even advise against cruise ships so I'd say we are a long way from the Federal Government shutting down much of anything.

I’d say if we make it, let them play and if we don’t, they should definitely cancel the tourney

NCAA again today saying they have absolutely no plans of cancelling the tournament or advising conferences to cancel their own tournaments.
NCAA will only shut it down if the CDC says to do it. That's not going to happen. |
