It comes down to the equation of is what they are giving us on offense enough to compensate for their deficiencies at rebounding and defense. With Jaevin the answer tends to be no more often because we have more reliable depth. With Vogt the answer tends to be yes, because though Diarra looks good at times, he lacks consistency - same is true for Davenport if we want to play small ball.

think about how often you see Jaevin with a wide open 3. its very rarely. mika is open all the time, keith is open all the time. tre is open all the time but he's not a guard.

but they never leave jaevin open. opponents clearly respect his ability to make the 3.

but when they run him off the line he's gotta pass the ball or sidestep and shoot a 3. his mid range pull up game is about the worst i've seen. 7-28 on the season from midrange. yuck.

Exactly! I would take Mika and his last two games. But the 11 games before that he didn't manage to score more than 4 points in any of them. He has to take shots and he is pretty good when going left to the rim. He's open enough to take more shots...he has to do that or we need Jaevin to come in and put some pressure on the D. He will take shots and they won't be as open as the one's Mika could get.

Harvey is the same. He shoots very little. I prefer Mika taking more 3's.

Agree 100%. Play the young guys.
This is why I wish Logan Johnson had stayed with the program. He's not getting a lot of minutes out west right now.

LJ was a complete misfit for this roster.

So you would be playing McNeil in front of Logan Johnson ? Point wasn't was he a fit (thats your point) the point is he's better than what we're seeing from McNeil off the bench.

no my point was he is a misfit for this roster.

mcneal is gone after this season. LJ would have been here for 2 more years in a system that isn't a good fit for his style.

Before McNeal short circuited, McNeal was probably as good if not better than Logan. The idea of Logan is better than the actual player. At least right now.

The problem with diarra is you get good diarra 20% of the time and bad diarra 80% of the time. And of that 80%, half of it is completely unplayable.
