Just FYI tho.

Elie grabber 6 boards in 12 min vs OSU last year.

I wish he would have stayed just to be a low minute high rebound guy

Sorolla cannot rebound. Also they won't get near the offensive boards because they're not set up on the block all game. It's a lot harder to grab an offensive board when you're 15 feet from the rim.
At NKU he was. We will see if he can keep the rate up with the jump in competition. I don't expect him to maintain as high of a rate, though I think he can still be average at least. I don't think he will be a dominant rebounder though.

Vogt's biggest issue is that he probably isn't going to be able to stay on the court due to fouls. It was a problem at NKU and with the jump in competition I expect it to be a bigger problem here.

Just played their first game tonight

They Just hit 17 three's on 59% shooting.

Scored 86 points on 66 possessions which is 1.30 ppp

This is a very high level and high competition buy game.

Gotta stay focused and ready.
I don't know the circumstances on their 3's but we will guard them all the way out. If we take that away (or most of it) I have to wonder what else they have? We have some options to drive and/or shoot.

no doubt he has to learn to just stand his ground and stay straight up. he tries to block shots so violently, they just call those almost no matter what.

Yeah that and he doesn't have good body control. Even if he gets the clean block, he ends up running into the player with his body and more often than not that's going to get a call. If he can avoid fouling, he can be at least an average and possibly even an above average center.

But he needs experience and some major changes to his style and it's very unlikely to happen this season. I expect him to be a 7+ fouls per 40 player this season (maybe down to 5 or 5.5 next season). Hopefully I'm wrong as a guy with 7+ fouls per 40 minutes shouldn't be starting or even getting very significant minutes.

Moderators, can we marry the two threads on the Drake game?

Can't wait to kick off the home season tonight.

I was in the UK for Midnight madness and had trick or treating duties for the exhibition, so its my first time getting to see the Bearcats live all year.

I think we win. But its a little tighter than we want. But ultimately we pull out the win.

We're 11-12 point favorites with most sportsbooks.

I have no idea what to expect from either team but I think we can guard pretty well and we should hit a lot more shots this time around. I would take UC and points if I had to bet

Don’t know how much stock to take in kenpom this early in the year but osu has the 7th rated defense and drake has the 144th so our offense should look better today
