'12 FL SG Carlos Morris (Committed to South Carolina)

Shooting guard
Jacksonville, Florida
Arlington Country Day
AAU: Heart and Hustle
Ht:6'5"
Wt:175 lbs
Class:2012 (High School)

Carlos is a good drive and pass player who looks to get others involved. His size allows him to get in the lane and he has excellent length. He plays hard on the defensive side of the ball as well. Could potentially be a lock down defender. His ball skills are good and he shoots well enogh that you have to respect him. Cincinnati has offered.

anbuc88 will become famous soon enough
BearcatJeff, with 1 and maybe 2 'ships left (if Yancy leaves), do you think Mick would try to add another guard? I would hope they are only looking to add big men, or try and entice someone who is unhappy with their current situation to transfer, rather than adding to the backcourt. Was the offer from UC was prior to the early signing period and is there still current interest?

Sorry anbuc, meant to put this in '12. Fixed now. They are looking at some juco bigs and others as well. There are a couple 2011 players they've reached out to as well but can't get anything official on one of them.

Whether Yancy stays or goes, they need at least one guy that can play solid minutes. He needs to be capable of 5-6 pts a game and be able to play D and rebound. He doesn't have to be spectacular but he has to be solid.

Carlos Morris

Carlos Morris

6'4" SG

2012

Rivals 3 star prospect...

ACD junior wing Carlos Morris is an athletic kid. He can shoot the ball and is quick along the baseline. More 6-foot-4 than 6-foot-6 he's a scorer who excels in an up and down game. Mentioned offers from Cincinnati, Miami and Seton Hall (who had a coach there to see him on Friday) while Georgia, Missouri and Georgia State have shown interest. ?

Carlos Morris, SG/SF, Dwight Howard Warriors- When we last saw him during the winter, Morris looked like a kid with high major potential. After watching him again we so no reason to change our opinion. A sleek athlete with long arms, Morris does most of his damage via a very dangerous pull-up jumper that is good out to beyond the three point line. Morris listed Providence, Cincinnati, Miami, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Seton Hall and Missouri among those he's been in contact with.

Beating Jeff to the punch. First time poster.

Carlos Morris, a 6-foot-5 wing in the class of 2012, is part of a three-headed monster for the U17 Dwight Howard Warriors. The Arlington Country Day (FL) standout teams with fellow high-major recruits Ian Baker ’12 and Solomon Poole ’13 on the Sunshine State squad.

Morris is garnering interest from a number of Big East programs at this point. He lists offers from Cincinnati, Providence, Miami, South Carolina, Georgia and South Florida. The other schools on his list are Florida, Seton Hall, Missouri, Arkansas, and VCU. Morris lists Cincinnati and Georgia as his favorites at this point.

Carlos Morris did not have a great game in the Dwight Howard Warriors’ comeback two-point win over the Charlotte Nets to cap off the evening. Some of that may be attributed to the fact that the team was stuck at the airport for much of the day due to inclement weather and finally got in only about three hours before their rescheduled late game.

Even though he struggled a bit, Morris showed flashes of potential. He can lock up defensively when he puts his mind to it. A long and athletic wing, Morris is somewhat wiry and could use a bit of added bulk to his frame. The rising senior can play both shooting guard and small forward and has the ability to hit shots from beyond the 3-point line. Morris did not wow, but showed a solid all-around game.
