But Cronin's scheme also allowed players to rest. There were times last year where we had Cumberland just stand at half court and we played 4v4 on offense to give Cumberland a breather. Defensively Cumberland would also find ways to take possessions off. Scott seems to have the energy, but Brannen's system seems more energy intensive on him as well. Center is an even harder position to rest at and the one where developing depth is almost essential. If Vogt gets into foul trouble - which he has avoided much better than I expected - we are going to be playing an unknown a lot of minutes. Not saying we should lose games to give depth experience (though I believe some argued that it would be worth it in prior years), but up 20 against Vermont, we should be developing the depth behind Vogt. |

Yeah im sure brannen would have liked to rest guys, but the game went from a 22 point lead to 11 in 3 minutes. with how we've been closing games out, brannen couldn't afford to play back ups at that point. tougher schedule + worse team and more games are gonna be close. guys are just going to have to tough it out. Vogt will get rest with Sorolla comes back. Tre probably has to play a ton of minutes all year, just like last year. |

Maybe just person. I believe I recall at least one person (maybe one of the Mick haters on the csnbbs forum) arguing that it would be worth losing an additional game or two in November/December in order to develop depth for March.

If we can afford it, yes develop the bench. Not sure we are in that position. Also, the players you are developing have to show some promise. They can’t be a total mess.

I hate the way Kelly left, but this sore loser s*** is the reason we lost so many fans after the Huggins departure.
