Skillings came off the bench but led the team in minutes. He had zero turnovers and zero fouls. That's the kind of sophomore progression that will allow him to stay on the court. Plus he pulled down 8 boards. He'll be pushing Simas for a starting spot if he keeps that up.

Unfortunately this team may have a lot of good players, but no great players, which will make it very difficult for Wes to figure out a rotation and to have some sort of consistency.
I'm also hoping others cut into Newman's minutes as the season goes along but I fear that won't happen. He'd be a great role player on teams with star players but that isn't this team. Of course everything changes if Aziz gets eligible. |

I'm not necessarily worried about Wes settling on rotations, but rather establishing who is going to be "that guy" for us in clutch moments - especially if we need a 3. I can see good defensive teams in the Big 12 making sure CJ doesn't get open looks down the stretch which will force a far lower percentage shooter to take a big shot. |

Yeah, not anyone great showing out yet. The team is definitely in development mode at this point. Hopefully things start to click as guys work through issues seen one game at a time.
It's not all bad by any means. I just don't see that momentum building yet. |
