Dixon and SK were not unknown quantities. They were not considered top shelf but neither were they obscure. Both garnered respect in different corners.

This kid wasn't unknown either. He was on his way to being potentially a highly rated recruit until he got hurt.

SK was somewhat unknown, but Dixon was just as unknown as Strickland.

Who else offered him this year? Not trying to stir anything up just wondering really.

There weren't many offers as a result of his injuries in HS however there were many interested schools prior to it. He was far from unknown but not highly recruited due to the injuries.

Excerpt from an article I posted a few months ago:

At this early stage, he has Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Missouri, Oklahoma, UNC, Washington, Washington State, and Villanova as his favorites because he grew up watching these programs and likes their style of play.

This was after his first ACL tear. Pretty encouraging list, he clearly has potential. If he can continue to work on his game, stay healthy, and improve conditioning, he could be a very solid player for us. Definitely the most interesting player in this class, nothing would surprise me as far as he goes. Just want people to be aware that just because he didn't have big offers before we signed him doesn't mean he wasn't sought after before his injuries.
