Rewatched the game, unfortunately it only went to the 9 minute mark in the second half, we were up 60-30 at that point so the game was basically over anyway, it's the best I got lol. Made a +/- for as much of the game I was able to watch, 1st half in parenthesis.
Jenifer +10 (+11) Cumberland +12 (+13) Evans +26 (+14) Clark +27 (+13) Washington +16 (+15) Broome +20 (+5) Scott +4 (+3) Brooks +1 (0) Nsoseme +15 (+1) Moore +22 (+5) A lot of it came down to if you were part of the 14-0 run in the second half. |

They kept playing that one replay where Cumberland and Washington both got a clean block on the same ball. That kind of puts things in perspective when you think about our D. Even if someone gets past us going to the hoop we usually have a good chance at swatting it from behind off the backboard (without fouling I might add).
Our on ball D has been very good too. An elite playmaker can always give any team fits...but other than that teams are going to have to knock down their open shots against us at a pretty good clip to win. |

Often times the first thing we want to do is try to get it down into the paint. The other team being aware of this from film can just work on denying the ball and doubling down for a few minutes. Boom...we get off to a slow start. Maybe we should mix that up a little so the other team doesn't know what to expect? We can always try that strategy a little later. I think we should be a little less predictable to start the game sometimes unless we have 1 on 1's with our bigs of course. |

You may be right though, teams certainly realize we are gonna try to work it inside, especially early. Shooting some early 3s might get defenses on their heels a little and open the game up a little quicker. |

For the first time since Cronin has been a head coach, I feel like if we play a good game, and the opponent plays a good game, we make the final 4.
It will take something special (us under performing or opponent shooting lights out) to beat this team on any night. I do truly think we are roughly the 5th-10th best team in the country. |
