Bart Torvik's bracketology algorithm seems to have punished the Big 10 teams after Maryland fell out of the top 75. Purdue fell below us to the last 2 seed, and Michigan St (who now has only two Group 1 wins) fell all the way to #15 on the seed list.
Maryland is sandwiched between Tulsa and UCF at 76, so they could easily move back in. I'm skeptical that these changes have much of an impact after the committee has already started deliberating, but it's still interesting to see how tiny movements across an arbitrary line can affect things. |

Rooting for today:
Arkansas over Tenn Virginia over UNC USC over Arizona If all 3 win, I think theres a chance we can beat Memphis and stay a 2 seed even losing tomorrow. |

I'd rather play Houston again. For one I want to avenge the loss and two I think we match up better with them as long as the refs call fouls on them holding us. It's bush league defense and I'm surprised the refs allowed it (although AAC refs suck, so...). They allowed it when they were at home but not when we were the home team, so hopefully on a neutral court they call it cleaner.
We already avenged the loss to Wichita State and all around I think they pose way more problems than houston. Houston is kind of one dimensional on offense it seems whereas Wichita can beat you multiple ways. At least from what I've seen in the four games we've played them, I haven't watched either team other than that. |

i have to think they have a 2 locked up and if they win the acc, who knows. unc is going to show us what the committee thinks about overall losses. unc has 14 group 1 wins. freaking insane.
anybody that plays 21 group 1 games is going to rack up some losses. |

I mean Xavier have 0 impressive wins outside of beating us. They've been steamrolled by Villanova twice and barely scrapped by about 8 wins to mediocre teams. Maybe it's because I'm more of a football guy but I wish how you win/lose meant more in college basketball. Last edited by Alum2013; 03-10-2018 at 09:51 AM. |
