Of course. My point is you cant blame the coach for all the negative and give him no credit for anything positive. Seems like a common theme. |

I’m talking about his defensive effort. That’s what earns you minutes. |

All of the sudden the excuse coach made has been basically exposed (by Cane) as more or less irrelevant. He is clearly the only other player outside of Cumberland who can make a play on demand and is necessary to have on the court (a lot). His effort may have increased on D a little but I doubt he was out there loafing. Either way it's good to see Cane playing his style because it's fun to watch and it's productive. It's also good to see Brooks distancing himself from the pack and Fredericks getting the hang of it. These developments are pretty big. If Williams can hit 33% from 3 on the year that will be another big development. I would like to see Diara get a few more minutes out there and Johnson in the upcoming games. |

diarra would get exposed way too much on the defensive side of the ball. and he's super raw on offense. mississippi went at him and scored twice in the 2 minutes he was in there. that probably wont help him get minutes in the future. |

Yah...I don't want to see it in big games right now but would like to see him get a little experience when we can against the patsies. He really has some freakish length and athleticism for his height and of course a decent stroke. He's still pretty far off but he won't get any closer if we can't get him some decent minutes. He's behind Brooks and Scott for 2 years but I wouldn't mind seeing him move past Ellie at some point...maybe by next year.

I think we all know the half-court offense isn't a great strength but I was pleasantly surprised at how many shots in the paint UC got in the tournament. |

[quote=waterhead;192627]There were people in here writing off Broome after two games as an afterthought sub...10-15 minutes max. Coach hinted that he wanted to play Broome with Johnson and Jenifer with Williams. Fast forward. Johnson plays 12 minutes and 5 minutes the past two games and Broome goes for 32 and 24.

Coach obviously wanted to send him a message after his nondeflection game and to his credit Cane has responded. Last edited by WAITE HOYT 2; 11-26-2018 at 03:29 PM. |
