Imagine UC finishes strong and ends up with a 6 seed in the NCAA tournament again. They beat the 11 seed, beat the 3 seed, and lose to the 2 seed in the Sweet 16 (basically finish like last year).

If that happened, I would be happy with the year. Of course the disasters of February would still be troubling and I would be a little disappointed about the regular season in general based on my expectations. But a Sweet 16 berth would keep the momentum of the program going and meet my expectations preseason.

Would you be satisfied?
this is stupid because the only way we get a 6 seed is to win out and even that might not be enough. this is such an irrelevant thread.

Absolutely not! It still falls back on Cronin and staff. They knew what they had for personnel yet they failed to adopt a strategy to make up for their shortcomings. Now, that is the answer to you "satisfied" question. Unfortunately, the likelihood of your scenario coming to fruition is infinitesimally small. Reminds me of a Probability and Statistics class I took way back when. But Scheids, it's always nice to dream. You been hangin' with BearcatMick?

So you're saying you haven't been happy with Bearcat basketball in the past 25 years?

This is my whole bitch right now. I don't see anything by way of personnel changes to try and change things. Throw the same 5 out night after night and hope. Damn it man, put Thomas or Sanders in the line up and play 4 guards!!!! If you have no low post play to your strengths. Thomas can get to the basket and he isn't going to turn it over any more than Rubles. Sanders has been playing pretty well and does rebound and pass and can hit shots. It's tough to score when you get 2 shots a game. Last night UC's bench shot 5, count em 5 shots in 40 minutes. Four guards and press and run but the staff refuses to change a damn thing.

I don't see that happening.

Hell, I'd be happy to see them score 70 points in a game again.

I think UC beats USF and wins their first BEast tourny game in what I believe will be a tough low scoring game. They will get a low seed in the NCAA (10 or so) and likely lose their first round game to a decent opponent. That's what I think at this point.

I would be thrilled with a sweet sixteen finish. I also think it will happen. Similar to USF last year, I think UC stumbles into the tournament and catches a few teams off guard. This goes beyond optimism and possibly into the realm stupidity, but why not? Some team is going to screw up a bunch brackets, maybe that can be the Cats.

Unfortunately I tend to agree. Though I have some hope for a first round win as teams might struggle on offense in that first round due to nerves, arena, etc. so I think we actually have a chance.

Watch out for USF, they're on a winning streak - one in a row. They beat DePaul. Don't take the spread!

In a word, yes.

At the beginning of the season, I might have held out for more. I might even want more next year or the year after. But knowing what we know right now about this year's team, I'll take it for sure.
