I'm much more encouraged about our chances if Keith plays. Regardless of how his shot goes down, against a team of athletes like Houston, we need the intangibles he offers especially on the defensive end and the boards.

So many things have gone wrong this year with the opt outs etc. but without most of that we would not have seen the impact young players can have. It’s quite likely that Mason would have been no more than a spot sub this year or next. Saunders would likely be securely behind DD for this year and next and if DD plays more...who knows.
As it stands now they have solidified solid rotation minutes no matter who we recruit or who comes back. Overall it could be a big blessing for us and coach. |

No question. By coach accounts he has been a great teammate. Obviously he is still our best player. But in the game yesterday I saw him with the ball at the top of the key after a tough stretch asking the young players to calm down or slow it down. We will need that type of presence today

Money game. Stars go have to be stars. Need Vogt and Eason to dominate inside. Mikey has keep shooting, we play 4v5 with him on offense

Houston is not invincible. They've lost @ECU and @Tulsa, two places we've won, and also lost @Wichita. They needed a miracle shot to beat Memphis on Senior Day and some lucky breaks down the stretch to win yesterday.
In the games they've lost, some trends have been: -Poor 3 pt shooting; they've shot an average of 28% from deep during those losses (their season average is just below 36%) -Below average FT shooting; they shot 66% from the FT stripe in losses but have been a 74% FT shooting team on the season. -Low rebounding margin; they were a combined +5 on the boards over those 3 losses (their currently 8th in the country in rebounding margin). |
