I like McGinnis. He shoots a ton of threes, which is the kind of modern basketball I like to see. Seems like a somewhat more athletic Mason. And with both of them having 4 years left, we've got some good shooting for the future.
The problem, as others are pointing out, is the roster construction. We have too many young guards fighting for limited minutes. We're handcuffing our future guard recruiting, and we only have two spots available now for a frontcourt that badly needs some physical bodies. If DDJ does leave, then we only have one guard who is a great ballhandler and penetrator. I'm not sure what the plan is anymore, but I'm willing to see what Wes does with this roster. |

Could not be less impressed.
We've brought in 7 new faces to our program (4 players and 3 coaches). Every single one of them has ties to UNCG. This is the #1 coach in America under the age of 40? This is what he brings recruiting and connections wise, nothing but UNCG guys?

Obviously there is something to be concerned about here. But Wes is the one who knows how many spots he thinks he's gonna have to fill. Lakhin and DD who knows. Banks?
So we know we have 2 spots. We need a big and I would prefer another SF/wing. But Wes may know if we have a 3rd or 4th spot available which would mean there is plenty of recruiting to do and bigger fish to land. I would like to hope we can land 2 bigs and 1 SF in the end or 2 bigs and one big impact wing/combo guard. It ain't over till it's over |

Wes just hired Chad Dollar to round out his staff.... He was a Georgia assistant... has key recruiting ties to the south... Recruited a former #1 overall pick Anthony Edwards. Also Wes is trying to find DerMarr Johnson a spot on his coaching staff as well.

Both of these would be great! There are other fun rumors floating out there as well about strength coach...

Assistant to the head coach would seem to be a logical spot for DerMarr. |

Just in case anyone else is reading this and is wondering about the comment about the strength coach, he's refererring to a rumor that Mike Redhfelt may be returning.

Dollar also recruited Ashton Haggans(*5) and had him signed to Georgia. He’s who I send after McMillan, Griffin, Peterson and McCaffery
