I agree he's a very good ball player, he does get away with alot of contact. Part of that may be Big Ten refs, I know they play a tough brand of ball. Louisville likes to see how much contact they can get away with too. When the refs blow the whistles they struggle. You might have a point. It also certainly helps that he has a squeaky clean, guy-next-door reputation off the court (GPA is around 3.8 or 3.9 I believe).

it could also be he is a very good player. If I asked how many times people downgrading his performance have seen him play I would guess it Is less then 25 prescient of his scheduled games. Yet they are certain he gets away with murder. I would also predict none are officials.
