I am so tired of getting kicked in the gut as a Cincinnati sports fan. I really don't know how much more I can take.
I really hope Santa Ono finds a way to open up the wallet and convince him to stay. Then again, Santa Ono is probably looking for his next opportunity too. |

Not according to Channel 12's Brad Johansen:
Brad Johansen @bradjohansen 43m #UC source says AD Babcock told him he didn't apply for VA Tech job contrary to Hokie source telling Roanoke-Times he did. #funwithsources |

I trust Groeschen's sources more. Plus, Tom's tweet is more recent. Regardless it doesn't look good.

He never said they didn't offer him the position or weren't interested in him, like Whit did with Tuberville, just that he didn't apply.

It's very possible that they have contacted Whit and are having informal discussions, but that Whit hasn't "applied" for the job. Groeschen's source may have been in the know, but worded things incorrectly. |

UC will survive if he leaves. Who says the next guy won't be better?

The next person could be better. You have to wonder, how many times you can keep hiring someone better than the previous person? This is a critical time for UC in terms of conferences and revenue generating. I think Whit has done a very nice job. Sometimes people are afraid of the unknown. Could be better or worse. Any way you slice it, UC will continue on.

This is further proof for all you sunshine pumpers that UC is going to be the AAC for long haul. Just let that sink in.
