Big and strong post player Dominic Woodson wasn't playing on the court we were focusing on, but every time we looked over, the 6-foot-9 power broker was burying another defender under the hoop for a conversion. Actually, he wasn't just burying any defender, he was burying class of 2014 five-star Cliff Alexander. Woodson was good for a session-high 22 points and easily played up to his status as a top-30 player in the class of 2013.

This weekend at the NBPA Camp, Rivals.com’s national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi confirmed what many in New England had already come to know, that Dominic Woodson would not be returning to Vermont Academy.
Woodson left the NEPSAC school in April and is now planning on attending either Findlay Prep, Huntington Prep or Sunrise Christian Academy for his senior season. Woodson’s performance this week in Charlottesville was in many ways symbolic of his year in New England as national recruiting analysts cited both his unquestioned talent as well as his sometimes questionable motor. http://www.newenglandrecruitingrepor...ont-Return.php |

Dominic Woodson
(Round Rock, Texas/Vermont Academy) 2013, PF, 6-9, 265 pounds He is a big, dominating force on the blocks who can score on post feeds and rebound with the best of them. We like the way he stays in the lane and owns his area. Plus, his face-up game is effective from the baseline short corner and high-post area, but he needs to run the court better to really kick it up a notch. http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbr...l/post?id=2394 |

Dominic Woodson: A top-30 player in the class of 2013, Woodson backed up that lofty status in Charlottesville. A throwback big who likes to trade elbows, throw hip checks and use his physicality, Woodson has a level of skill that matches his strength. Not saying that he's on the Zach Randolph-level, but his size, body and ability to hit faceup and turnaround jumpers at a high level are very reminiscent of a young Randolph.

I admittedly know next to nothing on him, is he athletic enough to run the style Mick wants to?

Needs to improve his motor but all the tools are there to be a special player. Would fit in just fine.
