Straw that Broke my Back
I know already that I will be criticized for what I am about to say, but I'm done. After 25 years, I just can't take it anymore. Now when I go to games, it is like going to the dentist for a root canal. I am sick of the "you have to be tough' type talk. The name of the game is putting the ball in the basket, and for the life of me, these guys are playing basketball 12 months a year and cannot score. Someone will take my place gladly, I am sure. It just makes me sick!!

Nobody jump! The sky is not falling! The world is not ending! Look at Florida this year...they are 12-12 I think. Kentucky missed the tournament altogether a few years ago too. If this is as low as it gets for our program, we'll be OK in the long run. Something about it being dark before dawn (don't know that one)!

the sky is not falling u are correct. It is the same dark gloomy cloudy with occasional sunshine. This is the kind of basketball that we need to get used to with Cronin here. Everyone of his teams had been offensively challenged which makes for hard to watch basketball. Let's face it, that type of basketball does not attract high level talent. I will continue to watch and support his teams but it's the same old song year in year out.

This is a down year for us if you liked our team as much as you say you did you would know that. You'll be back when we get a 5 seed in the tournament next year. Are team is young and promising when young teams face adversity they grow. That's what's happening to them right now and they will get better from it.

It's tough to love through this season. But I knew this team would be up and down. They do have a very good chance at being very good next year and the year after. So, I'll wait and see what those seasons bring. They better deliver though. As far as the style of basketball goes, it is a winning style so long as you can even be somewhat successful on the offense ends. It does REQUIRE that you turn the ball over very little and you create double digit turnovers. We are the reverse. They won't win that way. The lack of scoring is a huge problem. I thought we would be much better at this point. This program needs Gary Clark to be a beast going forward. I use to think Troy would be the guy that got this program to turn the corner, it's clear he is good but I have doubts about his ceiling now. I hope Gary takes full advantage of this opportunity. |
